West Leeming Primary School are showing their support for Peter Bol by hosting a Green and Gold Day to celebrate his achievements and cheer him on.
Peter Bol will run in the 800m finals at the Olympics tonight, chasing Gold for Australia.
He is the first Australian in 53 years to qualify for the 800m finals at the Olympics and has already broken two Australian records in two days.
Chaplain Meredith vanderKlip from West Leeming Primary School said, " If you have been following the Olympics you may have noticed an 800m runner, Peter Bol. He is running in the finals on Wednesday night and happens to be the son of one of our cleaners."
Peter is no stranger to competing at the Olympics. He ran in Rio at the 2016 Olympics before he became a standout at the 2019 World Championships in Doha.
Peter will line up for his shot at Olympic glory at 10:05 pm tonight.
"Unless there is an upset he is on form to collect a medal", speculated Meredith. "The school will be having a wear green and gold dress-up day and everyone will be in celebration mode whatever happens."
Channel 10 will be attending the school later today to cover their celebration.
